THRU THE BLUE (1992)
BLUE PERIOD. (1996)
BACKWARD BLUE (1998 - WIP)
.... Band Notes
Thru The Blue was founded mid 1991 after I met Lonny Stanford :). He knew bassist Greg - Of the Wunderlicks!, who had played bass in his former band. Of course there's always my brother Steve, who's been tappin' on things since he was tiny. He often got in trouble at the kitchen table.
Our first self-made album was "released" in 1992 on Cassette and recorded on a 4-Track. We performed at different venues in Dowtown SLC.
We are all still very good friends. Musicians are my favorite people. :)
I'm currently building a studio in a new location.... The Resurrection of LaconicFunk Studios!
I also went solo after this project as 1-2-Many, with a few albums, and released some free patches under my patch and sample design name, RetroHead. Someday I hope to be DJRetroHead, as I'm working with a Serrato Deck....time time time.
Lately, I've been involved with my nephew Matt, who is a total synth/effects hardware gearhead, and wise guy on all things academic. His Studio is actually, a techno-nerd mancave. When you open the door, it feels just like a Willy Wonka version of a music Hardware/Gear candy store.
After spending my time with so much technology Computer DAWs/Plugins) for song creation, I found that I had lost some of my playing technique. Singing and playing Music Live is where I began, and I plan to spend the rest of my time playing live, during my life long love affair with Art & Music. During my DAW downtime over the past 3 years - limping along on a 2005 computer, I began actively playing all my instruments daily.
I've been holding a Musos Night Monthly (MNM) event on the last Saturday/Sunday of each month. (Musos is purposely written non-possessive) The MNM event has been consistently held every month since the start of 2023, with friends from Utah who can make it. Great times with some great musicians.
May you make it through the blue... the blues, and find halcyon blue, where you learn sing or play them too - get it out of you. ;)
Music makes the rest of life worth everything! To all my friends of Music, both online and I.R.L., Thank You!
Retrospectively, I have so many great memories with all of you with whom I've played, talked shop, listened to music demos and ideas with, and learned from immensely.
