09 - Let It Fly
This dove that's inside me
I open the window up and let it know it can freely go and come when it's had enough I lifted a trapped scaredy bat ginger by tip of wing and quickly gripped the other end and gave that thing a fling And oh when it fluttered off this released captive thing it gave my heart such joy to see it take to wing When I was young I saw a show That felt so much like love Where diving birds came from the skies and people freaked and shoved Me I thought, "If I were them I couldn't hug them fast enough and I'd only laugh harder the more that they got rough The fear of flying, the fear of birds at once to my mind absurd. I love the birds, and I'm a guy so appropro when reasoned why. In my heart there lives a woman Who has become my closest friend I think someday I will find her and love her to the end. And if she has wings, a face of white a body bathed in grey I'll fly with her until the night each and every day. The love we share we can't express to those who see us just as pests and free we care not what they see We see our own divinity. © 2016 OneToMany |
